Artsy Adventure!

This past weekend my cousin and I went to visit some great folks in Greensburg, PA. We had lots of fun thrifting and doing some painting!

Me searching for goodies

One of my favorite places was the Pottery Playhouse.I highly suggest if you're ever in the area, GO!

We were able to paint some tiles any way we wanted! I made two different ones and of course my favorite one is promoting my brand! Heehee

I know it's a bit hard to read but RosMari Brand!! :D

Better shot. :D

Had so much fun this past weekend, it was something I needed. I nice positive getaway. Greensburg is such a cute place. Perhaps a good place for my store in the future?! Who knows! ;)

The rest of the week is for prep for the Upcycled Show in Potsdam, NY and I have lots to do! Stay cozy!

Fabric Dyeing How To.

I recently made an interesting top out of a long sleeve turtle neck shirt but I was unhappy with the color of it. SO I decided to attempt to dye it. I've never dyed fabric before but I have a feeling I'll be doing it a whole lot more!

Before:

The color is alright but it's a bit too Fred Flintstone.

So the process of dyeing is a lot longer than I thought. You have to be sure to pre-wash the fabric to rid of any stains, etc.
You will need boiling water, hot tap water, salt, a bucket, a stirring stick, and obviously your chosen dye.

Soak your fabric or garment in cold water.

When water boils pour it into a glass measuring cup and add dye. It's also a good idea to have a PIG timer.

While dye is dissolving fill a large bucket with hot tap water and salt. Stir with your awesome stick and then pour dye and boiling water into the bucket.

Stir around a bit to mix it all together then gently lower your fabric or garment into the bucket, making sure it isn't twisted. (Unless that's the look your going for.) Next is the longest part. After putting the garment into the bucket you have to stir it around for at least 30 minutes, depending on how dark your original fabric is and how dark you want it to be. You could be stirring for up to a whole hour!! I stirred mine for about 45 minutes.

After stirring for how ever long, rinse the garment in hot water then gradually rinse in cold until the water runs clear.
Then air dry or put it in the dryer to see the finished result!

After:

It didn't exactly turn bright teal but I'm happy with it. Much less Flintstony. Haha!

Of course after seeing how the dye works I wanted to dye more..

Happy Dyeing!!

Railfest Fun.

Good morning all!

Yesterday I was in Gloversville, NY for the annual Railfest! It started off a pretty good day!

Met a lot of nice people and made a few sales which is always nice!

Me in my booth

It started raining around 3PM and by 6PM the vendors had to leave because of the downpour. Why does it seem that all these shows in NY always get rained out?!

This formed on my canopy:

Some love does come from the rain. :)

On the drive back, though, I saw this awesome sign it's possibly the worst quality:

Normal is a cycle on a washing machine.

I thought that was pretty funny and true, if everyone was "normal" life wouldn't be fun!

Next up I will be in Little Falls, NY at Chicks Along the Canal.

I will also be in a fashion show during the craft show! I'm pretty nervous but mostly excited! I just hope it all goes well!

Enjoy your Sunday!

West Coast Bound

Hello all my lovelies! I am so excited about my upcoming trip out West. A good friend of mine from DRD Designs and I will be selling on the Venice Boardwalk this week, July 15th to be exact. This is a huge opportunity for me and I can hardly contain my excitement.

This is just an idea of what it looks like there. I found this picture through google images. Sweet right?!

Now, moving on to the French Festival.

It went pretty well. I had lots of fun and met a lot of really cool people and gained some fans which is always a great thing! Check out some of the shots of my setup from the Festival.

Garage Sales Rock!

Today my lovely mother and I had some errands to run. On the way home we spotted a garage sale! I don't know about all of you, but I am a huge fan of garage sales. Great stuff, cheap. What's better than that? I've always heard-"one mans junk is another mans treasure." I defiantly believe that. Anyway, I found some old tops that I plan to wash and cut up. I also found a few little storage boxes that I plan to use for my table display or perhaps clearance items. I'm really excited about them.

I also wanted to share my outfit with you for the day-

A sneak peek of the fleur de lis stamp on my tee. Vest made by me.

Richfield Springs tomorrow!! 9A-4P Come visit!!

Back in the swing of things

I have been slacking so much with my blog! I apologize!

Now, after a week of some needed relaxation, it's back to the busy summer! This Saturday I have a craft show in Richfield Springs from 9AM-4PM. It's the 32nd annual show and I hear its super big and lots of fun. There are over 100 crafters that will be there. Including DRD Designs! Fun fun!

Some of my fun this week included hanging with my BFF!!!

She's the best!

I've been wearing a sombrero for a while now, just for fun.

I'm such a fool.

Moving on - I have been stamping things with my fleur de lis stamp for the French Festival. I'll give you a little sneak peek soon.

Anyway, there is much to do so I'm off for the night!!

Busy Life=Illness?

It seems to me that I have been running around so much lately and I may or may not be coming down with something. I suspect Mono but I really hope not. I just haven't been feeling myself at all lately.
Either way, I have another craft show this Saturday from 10A-6P. I'm pretty excited about it. It sounds like it's going to be a really good time! It on the Main Street in Amsterdam, NY. Fun fun.

I have been doing a bit more sewing lately but like I said, I haven't felt 100% so I have certainly been slacking off a bit, I hope it doesn't come back to bite me. Anyway, I just wanted to write a short update on what's been going on in life. Pray for my health! I need to stay strong so I can keep crafting and going to the craft shows!!

Glimmerglass this weekend!

Sorry I've been slacking off so much this week with posts. I've been super busy running around visiting family and of course sewing. I've also been painting some items too.
This weekend is my first outdoor show in Cooperstown, NY. It's at the Glimmerglass State Park! I'm pretty excited about it, there is a lot going on that day! Classic cars, a bouncy house, craft classes, as well as tons of craft vendors! I think it's going to be a great day! The craft show is from 10AM-4PM so I hope to see you out there!

Today I plan to set up my booth again with my tent just to see how it will look. I'm constantly changing my mind about how I want my space to look. Hopefully I can find something I will stick to..probably not though. Haha.

Fun summer dress.

Neck Art.

I just wanted to write a short blog about the recycled tee shirt neck art that I make and the fun ways to wear it.

Twisted twice around neck.

Simply just draped over your head.

One of my favorite ways, tied in half and over the head. It creates different interesting layers.

Some strands twisted over your head create an edgy, fun look.

There are SO many ways to have fun with these. I have many colors and styles so you can be as creative as you want with them. They create interest to any outfit. Wear in summer with a tank top and you can still look cool while keeping cool!

Do you have any other ideas of how to wear RosMari Brand Neck Art?

Busy day!

Today I had some errands to run and a dentist appointment. I apparently have to get my wisdom teeth ripped out and I'm not very excited about it. They are starting to bother me though and according to my dentist they are growing in sideways, (pointing into my other teeth). So this means if they grow through they will start to make my teeth crooked; now considering the fact that I never had to have braces to get straight teeth, I don't want to need them. Therefore, my wisdom teeth need to go.

Have you gotten your wisdom teeth removed? Did it hurt?

I also did some Mother's Day shopping and business shopping too! I finally purchased a hand truck/cart. It's going to help SO much. After the Mayday! Sale I was so tired out it became obvious that I needed to get one. I got a good deal too at Harbor Freight. I look forward to having that!

I have to blog more about Robert Frank.

His work just blows my mind. He is so talented and I just have share more.

I purchased a print of this from him:

You have GOT to check out all his other work. Go to him facebook page, blog, and online shop!

Enjoy!

Rochester Bound.

Good morning all.

This morning I am preparing to start my travel to Rochester for the Mayday! Underground Sale! I couldn't be more excited! A little getaway all by my lonesome plus an awesome show to sell at!? What could be better!? I am staying in a quaint hotel, by quaint I just mean the cheapest, non insect infested place I could find. Haha.
Either way, I am ecstatic for this trip. I plan to leave about noon so I can get to the hotel and relax all evening, hopefully in the pool or gym...if it has either. I haven't even checked.
I am also so happy about my new hair. I took a few more photos like I promised.
Check it out!!

It's longer on one side.

This isn't the greatest photo but I think you can tell mostly what my hair is like. It's really short in the back which is great for summer!

Once again, don't forget about Mayday! Underground this Saturday!!

Can't wait to see you there!!

It smells like Summer

Today my wonderful Mother and I had some bonding/pampering time. This is a big deal because she rarely does anything for herself, and I mean anything. So I convinced her that it was a good idea to get pedicures and our hair done! I am also guilty of not doing anything for myself and a pedicure is a big step for me. In fact today's pedicure is probably only my 3rd in my lifetime. I just don't like spending the money. Anyway, check out my toenails, I asked them to paint my logo on them!

We also ate some watermelon, a sure sign of Summer!!

I've never been any good at cutting watermelon, I just sort of go at it with a knife and eat chunks of it off the knife. It's so delicious.

We also got our hair done. I like mine a lot. It's not too terribly different, mostly just shorter in the back. What do you think?

I know you can't see it all that well, maybe I'll post more later of a better angle. Mostly I just wanted to show off Mama again.

Mayday! Sale Prep.

So yesterday I set up my booth in my living room just to see how it would look and to decide if I had to make any adjustments.

This is what I came up with:

I think I like it pretty well. More than likely when I get to the show this weekend I'll make some changes but as of now, I like it. Obviously you can't see the clothes rack in these photos but it's to the right of the big table.

What do you think?

I'm sure I'll be doing some sewing today, hopefully some handsewing outdoors because it is SO nice out!!

Enjoy the day!!
